IplanRio Vice President, Fernando Ivo, was a guest speaker at the event “Let’s Talk About It – The New Era of Aging”, held on the 10th at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB). Hosted by the Secretariat for Healthy Aging and Quality of Life (SEMESQV.Rio), the meeting brought together experts from various fields to discuss how technology is shaping life, the economy, and culture in the face of a growing elderly population.

With 28 years of experience at Rio City Hall and leadership in projects such as Carioca Digital and Processo.Rio, Fernando Ivo emphasized the role of public management in preparing the city for this new reality. He highlighted the impact of tools such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and automation, arguing that it is up to the public sector to ensure that digital advancements are accessible to everyone, reducing inequalities and expanding opportunities.

The debate also featured participation from Sueli Voltarelli, General Manager of CCBB; Douglas Moreno, Undersecretary of Management at SEMESQV.Rio; and Alexandre Diniz, museology expert and pedagogical coordinator at CCBB-RJ.

The meeting encouraged the exchange of experiences between different generations and opened space for reflections on digital inclusion, social sustainability, and the challenges of longevity in the contemporary world.
