On the 17th, the Rio Operations Center (COR) hosted an event themed “Innovation Applied to Smart Cities – Where we can and want to go: national and international examples,” which brought together authorities and experts from the public and private sectors.
IplanRio, the Municipal Information Technology Company of Rio de Janeiro, in conjunction with the Undersecretariat for Coordination, Monitoring, and Transformation (CVL) and the Undersecretariat for People and Shared Management (SMFP), led another important initiative focused on innovation applied to the Smart Cities concept.
Aiming to promote engagement and share relevant content for the network of digital transformation agents, the event is part of a series of lectures and workshops promoted by CVL/SUBAD in partnership with IplanRio. The company seeks to strengthen the development of strategic partnerships that drive the adoption of innovative technologies, contributing to the construction of a more connected and efficient city.
Among the participants, the presence of Julio Urdangarin, Technical Director of Technology Project Acceleration (DTAP) at IplanRio, stood out. He stated, “A city is only smart when it adopts technologies to improve the quality of life for its citizens, increasing the efficiency of urban services and promoting sustainable development, and the Rio Operations Center is the municipal facility that embodies and best represents this concept.” He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to promote innovative solutions.
Also participating were Hans Blakenburgh, Chief Representative of the Netherlands Embassy’s Business Support Office and innovation expert; Leonardo Marques, CFO of the startup Noah Smart Cities, which focuses on the democratization of monitoring and security; and Willington Feitosa, Smart City Coordinator for the City of Rio.
The event was attended by IplanRio CEO Fernando Ivo and the entire IplanRio technical board.
