Voting for the Board of Directors (CAD) of the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Social Security and Assistance Institute (PREVI-RIO) concluded on July 22nd using an automated system. As in previous years, the election was conducted via the Carioca Digital platform and the Electronic Voting System (SISVE), with over 3,500 voters participating.
The Previ-Rio Board deliberates on social security and assistance benefits for city employees and pensioners, as well as the Institute's investment policies and real estate sales. Furthermore, it works on proposals to adjust salaries, wages, and pensions for both active and retired PREVI-RIO staff. In short, this board plays a vital role in the lives of public servants and their families. Many aspire to serve on this board, so it is natural that the entire electoral process is subject to oversight by regulatory bodies.
The elections, held every two years, were previously a slow process involving the mailing of individual paper letters containing personal passwords, which often hindered the process due to lost mail, address changes, or delivery delays. This year's board consists of four elected members, alongside the Mayor, the Secretary of Administration, the Municipal Attorney General, the Municipal Secretary of Finance, and the President of the Institute.
IplanRio’s involvement was a strategic contribution that significantly enhanced the success of the elections, ensuring the process was efficient and seamless for voters.
