New tool to support learning for municipal school students in Mathematics and Portuguese
This month, Rio City Hall is implementing a new boost for public school education. The “Learning Recovery Trails” project, a system developed by IplanRio in partnership with the Municipal Department of Education (SME-Rio), aims to improve learning monitoring and recovery with a focus on Mathematics and Portuguese.
Integrated into the well-known DiáRio system (which digitizes and manages class registers for teachers), the system was classified as urgent and a priority by the SME at the beginning of 2025. The “Trails” module was carefully developed by the IplanRio team over the last 45 days, providing an effective and innovative solution to the educational challenges faced by the municipal school system.
Among its features and benefits, the system provides a detailed overview of each student's difficulties during recovery, clearly identifying the content that requires more attention. In other words, the tool allows for:
- Targeted Pedagogical Intervention: Based on concrete data from students' performance on practice tests, teachers can plan more effective and personalized recovery strategies.
- Continuous Monitoring: Data collection throughout the four practice tests will allow the SME to track learning progress and the effectiveness of recovery actions.
- Strategic Management Information: Aggregated data will generate valuable insights for SME management, supporting the creation of more assertive educational policies focused on the real needs of the school system.
- DiáRio Optimization: Integration with DiáRio, already used for tracking student attendance, facilitates access to performance data, making the workflow faster and more efficient.
The launch of the “Learning Recovery Trails” module represents a significant step forward in using technology to support public education, allowing for more precise monitoring and the implementation of pedagogical actions based on concrete data. This tool will be fundamental to the success of recovery strategies, especially following the educational impacts students have faced over the last few years.
“This project reflects IplanRio’s commitment to innovation in the public sector and our ongoing partnership with the SME to improve the quality of education in the city,” says IplanRio president, João Carabetta.
