On September 12th, IplanRio, coordinated by the Chief of Staff's Office through the Undersecretariat for Coordination, Monitoring, and Digital Transformation (SUBAD), engaged over 100 participants representing various Rio City Hall agencies at the event "Cybersecurity and Data Protection: What has been done since the hacker attack?". The event showcased several deliverables and implementations that have increased the resilience and cybersecurity standards of Rio City Hall.

During the event, Fernando Ivo Cavalcante, CEO of IplanRio, provided participants with context on the entire journey led by the company to make the City Hall's cyber environment more secure. He detailed the concepts and metrics currently achieved by the Municipality in this area, while also discussing hacker behavior, benchmarks for cybersecurity excellence, and our current progress on this path.

"In the past, Rio de Janeiro City Hall relied on over 1,000 systems, a disproportionate amount for an ideal support scenario for the Municipality or for efficient service management. Looking at the glass half full, the necessary investments are now coming in. We still need to invest more in security, but the initial groundwork has been laid, and now this must be done very rationally and efficiently," believes Fernando Ivo.

The event also marks a new phase in IplanRio's relationship with other agencies. During the event, nine new Technical Standards related to information security were presented. Municipal agencies and entities have until September 27th to submit their feedback and suggestions so that the final text can be completed, reinforcing the role of each stakeholder in the Municipality's technology ecosystem.

The following participated in the event: Ação Comunitária, CET-Rio, Iplan, CVL, Transporte, SMAS, SMIT, GMRIO, SME, SMFP, SMPD, COR, RioSaude, RioLuz, Comlurb, RioÁguas, and GBP.
