The City Hall has launched the Rio 2025 Challenge, an open public consultation inviting society to contribute ideas to address 10 major urban challenges. IplanRio played an active role in this project, developing the website that gives shape and visibility to the initiative. It is where citizens can learn about the topics, submit suggestions, and help build innovative solutions for the city.
This is an opportunity for us, who work with technology every day, to participate in a process that can transform the city in a very practical way. After all, who better than the IplanRio team to test the platform, navigate what we helped build, and perhaps propose solutions that make a difference?
The challenges defined by the City Hall cover strategic areas that directly impact the daily lives of Rio residents:
- Smart Urban Security Monitor
- Organic Waste Collection and Bio-input Production
- Optimization of Comlurb Fleet Management
- 3D Flood Simulation
- Improvement of Weather Forecasting
- Tree Pruning Needs Prediction
- Contingency Calculation for Legal Proceedings
- Unified Registry of Urban Conservation Interventions
- Smart Public Procurement Portal
- Smart Mobility Monitor
The public consultation is open until August 31st, and anyone can participate. Afterward, a report containing all contributions will be released.
The Rio Challenge is more than just a call for proposals: it is a collective effort. We at IplanRio have been part of it from the beginning, providing the technology that powers this experience. Now, we invite each of you to get involved, explore the challenges, and leave your mark on this process that combines innovation, efficiency, and quality of life for everyone in the city.
