Débora de Barros Augusto
Débora de Barros Augusto is a specialist in public management and environmental policy, with extensive experience in environment, climate, and conservation. A chemical engineer by training, with a specialization in Public Policy Management from Fundação Getulio Vargas and leadership training from Columbia University, she has built a career marked by her work across various sectors of Rio de Janeiro's public administration.
She served as Undersecretary of the Environment for the City of Rio (2021-2022), leading reforestation projects, environmental compensation initiatives, and community gardens, while also coordinating strategic environmental licensing processes for the city. She also served as Coordinator of Green Areas, strengthening urban sustainability and social inclusion initiatives.
She worked as a technical advisor in the Office of the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro and as a board member for funds and committees focused on public order and environmental compensation. She is currently the Chief of Staff at IplanRio, where she contributes to the modernization of public management and the development of technological solutions that directly impact the daily lives of Rio's residents.
